Safety
Our staff are familiar with the area and can give you tips on safety and possible difficulties for the respective bike routes. Many different bike routes pass close to Hotel Florida. All routes can be viewed at www.veloland.ch. The website also points out possible difficulties and precautions. You will also find valuable safety information at www.provelo.ch or www.suva.ch/velo. Please wear a bicycle helmet on all your bike tours and adapt your speed to the surroundings and your riding ability.
Weather forecasts
Our staff at the reception will be happy to help you with questions about the weather forecast. You can also get information at any time on the Internet at www.wetter.com,www.srf.ch/meteo or www.meteoschweiz.admin.ch (free WiFi throughout the hotel). The website www.veloland.ch also offers a section with a weather forecast for all areas of Switzerland.
Card material
A selection of maps of the local area is available at our reception. Our staff will be happy to help you with specific questions about the routes in the area. The website www.schweizmobil.ch is also very informative when it comes to maps. Here you can create your own virtual tours with our login. Please ask us for the login for this service.
Public transport
Our Hotel Florida is well connected to public transport. The bus stop in the immediate vicinity is called "Studen Grien". At www.sbb.ch you will find all possible connections from your place of residence to our hotel. Bicycles are allowed on the bus and in the trains, but it is necessary to buy a ticket for the bike. On some trains, a reservation for the bike may be obligatory or the transport capacity may be limited. Please check the above website or call the SBB hotline 0900 300 300 (CHF 1.19/min. from the Swiss fixed-line network) for more information.
Bicycles are permitted on the nearby Funis Leubringen and Magglingen. An additional ticket for the bicycle must also be purchased on these trains. The ticket can be purchased from the ticket machine at the respective stations. Further information on this: www.funicar.ch
Bike room
The Hotel Florida has a large, easily accessible and lockable bike room. You may store your bike in this room at any time. The bike room has electricity, light and hanging facilities for your bike. There is also a workbench, an assembly stand and a repair kit. The key is available on request at the reception.
Bike cleaning station
We also provide cleaning equipment in our bike room so that you can clean your bike after a ride. There is a water tap outside our hotel. We are happy to provide you with a hose if you let us know in advance. Please speak to reception.
Gastronomy
For early risers, our rich breakfast buffet is ready every day from 6:30 a.m. and on Sunday from 7:30 a.m. If you would like to start your tour earlier, you are welcome to order a packed lunch. For larger groups, an earlier start of the breakfast buffet is also possible by arrangement.
You can have your evening meal with us until 10:30 p.m.
Drying service
We will be happy to dry your clothes and shoes for the next day free of charge. Please hand in the clothes and shoes to be dried at the reception by 6 pm at the latest. This way we can ensure that you can start the next day with dry clothes. There is also a shoe drying machine in the bike garage.
Showers
If you would like to take a shower before check-in (2 p.m.) or after check-out (11 a.m.), this is easily possible in our fitness centre.
Massage and sauna
What could be better than unwinding in the sauna after a strenuous bike tour and relaxing your muscles again? That's exactly what you can do here with us. For our hotel guests, the use of the sauna, steam bath and fitness centre is included in the room rate.
The opening hours are:
Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday and public holidays: 9.00 am to 2.00 pm
During the summer months (June, July and August), open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.00 a.m to 2.00 p.m.
